Government Lighting Services in Houston

Government facilities span a wide range of environments, from administrative offices and courthouses to maintenance yards, detention facilities, parking garages, and outdoor public spaces. Each carries its own requirements for brightness, security, and reliability. Our team plans, installs, retrofits, and maintains lighting solutions across all of them, including:

• Interior lighting for offices, courthouses, and public service buildings
• Parking lot, parking garage, and pole lighting for public safety and security
• Street lighting and roadway pole installations
• Park, recreation, and sports field lighting
• Emergency and egress lighting that meets code requirements
• Exterior building lighting, wayfinding, and illuminated sign maintenance
• Lighting automation and controls, including occupancy and daylight sensors
• Drive-by outage surveys and ongoing lighting inspections
• Lighting design and photometric layouts, including in-house AutoCAD drawings

Because our crews operate a fleet of bucket trucks reaching up to 75 feet, plus portable man lifts, we can service hard-to-reach roadway poles, high atriums, and exterior fixtures across large public campuses and properties.

Government Building LED Retrofitting in Houston

Lighting can account for a significant share of a public facility's energy budget, and aging fluorescent, HID, or metal halide fixtures only add to maintenance demands and taxpayer expense. Our government building LED retrofitting services in Houston upgrade outdated systems to efficient, long-life LED, lowering energy and maintenance costs while improving light quality across your facilities.

As a registered sponsor of CenterPoint Energy's Standard Offer Program (S.O.P.), Highlights Electrical can guide your agency through the rebate process, including the paperwork required to apply for available incentives. The program opens each January with a limited budget, so acting early helps ensure your entity can take advantage of these savings. Federal tax incentives may also apply to energy-efficient lighting and lighting control retrofits.

For government entities, the value of municipal LED retrofitting in Houston comes from reduced energy use and also from far fewer fixture replacements across roadways, garages, and public spaces that are costly and time-consuming to service.

Streamlined Procurement for Government Entities

We understand that public agencies operate under strict procurement laws, and we've structured our business to make working with us straightforward. Highlights Electrical is certified by TIPS and BuyBoard to serve governmental entities throughout Texas, and we are members of the National Purchasing Cooperative, which streamlines purchasing in compliance with the procurement laws of each participating state. This allows your department to move forward on lighting projects without the delays of a lengthy bid process.
